Safe zones not safe with Hinges

Qrahn shared this bug 2 years ago
Reported

When safezones are made, they push out any enemy grid. As it should work. Same with pistons... however hinges are exempt from this as they can be forced inside.

how to:

set up a safezone and set any radius you'd like

build a static or heavy ship on the outside perimeter of the safe zone

Add a hinge with a stick (add a grinder/welder/connector)

and have that grid owned by an enemy entity

Slowly increase/decrease the angle of the stick into the safe zone, and you can see that it can be force through. In my video i purposefully sped up the process to show you how it is done. It can take players longer to aim the stick at their targeted block.

this needs to be fixed or safe zones are not safe....

Hello. Qrahn!

Sorry to hear you have experienced this issue. I have been looking at this and don't seem to be able to reproduce the issue as the 'stick' is never allowed into the safe zone. Could I please have a copy of your save so I can try this according to your video?

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Because you should not use reverse option, use lower/upper limit and change that..

Hello. Qrahn!

I was using the upper and lower limits in this instance :) Is it possible to please supply your save file as mentioned above?
