Errant location markers

Recently, I have visited a new sector for the first time to see a nearby marker for a mission completed in the previous sector, i.e. Salvage Yard or Construction Yard. The markers disappeared as soon as I accepted a mission in the new sector and I didn't notice if the position of the marker matched the position, relative to the station, in the old sector.
I haven't checked to see if I have a save that shows the issue.
