Crash When Moving Rapidly Near Verdure's Surface

Need More Information

Whenever I move fast, like 100-300 m/s near Verdure's surface, I get an AMD driver timeout and game crash.

My specs:

RX 7800 XT

Ryzem 7 3700x

32gb ram.

I think crash reports are sent automatically? But I'm not sure so making this just in case. Let me know if you need any other info... this bug is making doing anything on Verdure impossible.

It also seems to be creative-only or recently introduced, because when I was playing survival on Verdure's surface I didn't have this issue.

Hello Star_Kindler,

Could you please provide Game logs?

You can find them here:

C:\Users\(your_username)\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers2\Temp\Logs

Please attach both log and Render12 files91b6c2036e7fd3eee2e8d06a0a8f2220

Okay, I wasn't sure if logs are only made if there's a crash or not, so I made sure to find two pairs that have "CRASH HANDLER" in them, so those should be the right ones I think? I don't remember my game crashing recently besides from this bug. If not, or if it would be better, I'll reproduce it and get a log that's definitely from this.

Let me know if you need anything else!

Here's another log that I'm 100% sure is from a session where it crashed from this issue. For some reason it seems to have made 2 "log" files for this one "render" file? So I've attached all three files.

Also, this seems to happen when rapidly moving into a forested area. Perhaps some foliage loading, or too many things loading at once causes it?

Do you still need more logs or just haven't updated the status yet? Because the game crashes the first time I try to load into my world now every new session so I can get a lot more if needed.

I'm encountering a very similar bug, especially now that the poster says they experience it when logging in to a new world.

Okay, at least some of the crashes seem to be caused by approaching an unknown signal, apparently when the game tries to load in the grid associated with the signal. Either that or something very close by it, but as I'm able to get much closer with a spectator camera and I never see the actual grid before it crashes, I'm betting that's what it is.

Perhaps the memory is full. That's exactly what happened to me, especially when you have an ore detector on board. Try disabling the detector and keeping an eye on the memory usage.

RAM or VRAM? My RAM has not gone close to running out that I can tell. My VRAM constantly sits within 1GB of the max though.

Ram will run out ;)

This may have been fixed in the latest patch. I haven't gotten it since, but my game now freezes every couple of seconds... even on low graphics. if it continues I'll report it separately.
