Pistons inside Safe Zones do not work

I know there is a bug report submitted regarding this - however that was over 2 years ago so I would have thought it would have been fixed by now.

I am in the process of building a world/scenario that uses pistons in the construction of some puzzles and traps. These all reside inside a Safe Zone (so players can't destroy the puzzles & traps and 'cheat') HOWEVER, When I enable the Safe Zone for testing, as soon as it activates all Pistons Lock in place and can not be moved/reversed etc. If their movement is triggered by (for eg) timer blocks, the piston will not move UNTIL the safe zone is turned off - then they honor the last function (like reversing, extending etc) even if this is several minutes after the function was initiated.

I have also noticed much clanging from armor blocks that normally do not (since the newest collision update for armor blocks)

Because of this armor block clanging, I initially thought it may have been what was stopping the pistons from moving, however further testing with a single piston with no obstruction or block on the head still does not move when the safe zone is active.
