I have tried:
    - modifying SpaceEngineers.cfg
    - deleting 
        - SpaceEngineers.cfg
        - 'cache' files located in the same forder
        - C:\User\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers
        - G:\Games\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers
    - uninstalling and reinstalling
        - SpaceEngineers
        - all of my display drivers
        - Nvidia PhysX
        - VC_redist.x86
        - VC_redist.X64
    - running 
        - NetFxRepairTool
        - directx_Jun2010_redist
        - SpaceEngineers in Dx9 mode 
            - runs
            - correctly detects my GPU
            - no multiplayer as everyone is on Dx11
            - probably limited features
            => not an option
