Space Engineer is too OP please nerf
By itself Engineer is too effective in anti-ship combat, as long as you can deliver engineer to the ship, ship is effectively lost. For example I recently captured two Mining Carriages (the new ones with two turrets) and did that without use of any other vessels, just avoided fire and got into dead-zone. My solution to taking out surface station was similar. Light patrol drones are effectively useless against engineer (for some reason their turret's are off right now) as well as number of other small drones.
What allows engineer to be so effective:
- Manuverability&turret inefectiveness: while engineer can't avoid fire at point blank range, engineer can dance around target without being hit at 50+ meters.
- Survivability: engineer somehow can take couple bullets from gatling turrets, same bullets that tear armor blocks apart
- Stupid AI: Mining Carriage spawn drones, but drones do not pursue for some reason; patrol drones come close to engineer to the point where drone can't rotate effectively to target Engineer yet engineer gains advantage due to manuverability and acceleration (I either force drones to target each other, or grind their gatlings off).
- Turret inefectivenes: there is a number of ways to fix this, but I think the easiest one will be specialized ammo with much less mass&penetration, but much more speed (may be it should be made inefective against everything sans missiles, meteors, fragile blocks and engineer). Ideally it also needs a priority list that specifies tatget types, distances and ammo used, may be even target size (Current UI can't set priorities, just what to shoot at)
