Shield System Breaks PVP

The shield system as currently implemented in the game makes PVP more or less impossible. If a faction is online and has the shield block, they can activate it as soon as they see your fleet and there is nothing you can do to stop it. There is no counter, no way to beat it. It's 100% broken at present.


I suggest the following changes:

  1. Shield system only be activated when there is no players in the faction online. (It would auto activate)
  2. Shield system takes 15min or so to activate once the last player logs off to prevent players insta logging to avoid PVP.

Unfortunately no enemy players or structures can enter those zones so that is not possible.

Those are not sheilds anyway they are safe zone so your solution about no online player or whatever is bad cause you lost the interet of a safezone. The problem is that it's way too easy to mainain, chipsset are cheap and the energie consumption too easy to handle.

1. Have a "warm-up" timer configurable by server admins.

2. Have any safe-zone in warm-up state act as a beacon with admin configurable range.

3. Have a cool-down timer if the safe-zone is deactivated for any reason, it can't be reactivated in this time, configurable by server admins.

4. Increase power requirements to maintain (make them configurable by admin?)

5. Make them require a resource/fuel to keep online
