Keybinding change in options does nothing in 1.191/ Build Planner

Need More Information

You give us options for key bindings…. There is an option for the “Build Planner” listed. Changing this to a keyboard or a different mouse button does NOTHING. I get a warning when trying to change it to the RMB (as we all who used Draygo’s Easy Inventory are used to and are habitually doing) about “Secondary Control.” I’ve changed the “Build Planner” control to a side mouse button. Does not work at all and is still stuck on the MMB. I do not want it to be limited to the MMB because that is what paints… and if you are even remotely off the target area of the conveyor access,…. You end up painting a large area of blocks, if not the entire station. Closest thing I’ve come up with is setting the paint block control button to a different mouse button. While I’m on the rant… please separate the Paint and Parking Break option of the controls… please… it’s only been asked of you since connectors were introduced and we learned that hitting P would disconnect every attached grid…..

Also, trying to withdraw 10x as you say is possible in the help controls (Ctrl+MMB) but that doesn’t seem to work at all either and I just get a “Build planner is empty” message about having to open up the G menu…. But I can just walk up with a block selected in my toolbar and single MMB click to withdraw… Also, Build Planner just seems to be broken in general because I walk up to get a single armor block of 25 steel plates….. when I click to withdraw…. I get 1 or a random number…. Other times I get not all the components… but a second click gives me all the components….. ?? Brand spanking new world. FIX WHAT IS CURRENTLY WRONG BEFORE YOU TRY TO INTRODUCE MORE GAME BREAKING “ENHANCEMENTS”

(Response): Does for me, please explain what exactly is the issue for you there.

(Response): YES, that warning is working as intended, you are trying to use one key for multiple bindable actions, we are just letting you know.

(Response): Shortcuts in G-screen are not rebindable, they are hardcoded. Otherwise it works for me.

		
	I do not want it to be limited to the MMB because that is what paints… and if you are even remotely off the target area of the conveyor access,….
(Response): It is not limited to MMB and painting can be rebound as well.

		
	You end up painting a large area of blocks, if not the entire station.
(Response): Redo your keybinds to your liking if you think it is too easy to accidentally recolour/reskin your whole ship.

(Response): We have many keys already populated in the controls and it is not easy adding new keybinds to not upset everyone, as players are used to certain control schemes.

(Response): A separate ticket, P is not paint, it is color picker, it is rebindable as well.

(Response): Another separate issue, go find it in useresponse and vote for it or make a new one.

(Response): It works for me when BP is not empty. Bear in mind that the components actually have to exist somewhere in the conveyor system, the conveyor system has to be functional and you have to have access to it.

(Response): Ahh, Ctrl+MMB only works when you have some block actually added in build planner, MMB while holding block is for quick use and works like this:

(Response): Check if your BP row is empty

(Response): If it isnt it tries to withdraw what is needed for the BP items

(Response): If it is empty it adds the held block to BP

(Response): It immediately tries to withdraw components for it

(Response): If it succeeds it removes the item from BP row

(Response): If it does not it leaves the item in BP fully or partially incomplete

(Response): Shortcuts in G-screen are not rebindable, they are hardcoded. Otherwise it works for me.

  • If the build planner shortcuts are hardcoded in the G-screen…. Then why does the option to change the key-binding exist?

  • Changing the “color picker” keybind also changes the “parking brake/connector” option so that does not solve any issue.

Why not make the quick use option work the way Draygo’s Easy Inventory Mod worked? The withdrawal of only a certain amount of components was fixed in one of the updates, thank you.

We, the community, have been doing this since you introduced it the support site. It would be great if the site worked properly so we could see what we are typing into the text box. I’ve tried to edit this message in five different web browsers, none of which allow me to see what I’m typing. Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, and Safari.
