So, there is a file called "VoxelMaterials_asteroids.sbc" which CLAIMS to be the place to edit these settings.
I, however have found that all edits to this file fail to take effect.
Although once I somehow managed to break the game by inputting the maximum integer value and it made all the ores turn to nickel.
I agree, the 'speckled or marbled' distrbution of ore on asteroids may be good when using a mining ship but useless when using a hand drill, and also looks ridiculous, lets go back to the old method of muliple ores that are contained within it's own area instead of being crammed together like an ore 'soup'. I feel this has spoiled the game for most of the gaming community and has only been done to satisfy a small yet loud part of that community. Get rid of the new ore distribution method and bring back the old.
